Samsung to Launch 2GHz Dual-Core Smartphone in 2012

Barely a year after the introduction of the 1GHz smartphone processor, Samsung is already planning on launching a 2GHz dual-core smartphone by next year.
According to a Samsung official, the company is also considering the possibility of selling the chip separately to other cell phone manufacturers. There was no mention of tablets, even though a 2GHz dual-core processor would better suit the next generation Galaxy Tab. He also believes that the new processor could deliver PC-class performance.
This all sounds good, but the question remains: Will the new smartphone have a battery to handle that kind of power? Even with today's technology, smartphone users' number one concern is battery life.
