Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Officially Launched

sony ericsson xperia play frontJust two weeks after the announcement, Sony Ericsson has already launched the highly expected Xperia Play, the world's first PlayStation smartphone. According to the company, users will have plenty of games to chose from. The industry's biggest game providers, such as Sony, Gameloft, EA and Glu Mobile have joined forces to bring over 60 games to the Play. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Need for Speed
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
  • Dungeon Defenders Second Wave
  • Gun Bros
  • Galaxy on Fire 2
  • Guns 'n' Glory
  • Worms

  • Backstab
  • N.O.V.A.2
  • Asphalt 6, which will be available for free exclusively on Xperia PLAY

The Xperia Play comes equipped with a 1GHz Scorpion ARMv7 processor running Android OS, a 4-inch capacitive multi-touch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display, a 5.1 megapixel camera with flash, autofocus and image stabiliser, 400 MB of internal memory, 8GB microSD card, 3.5 mm audio jack, aGPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The new PlayStation phone is available in the UK, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Russia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The estimated UK price is £479.99 for the SIM free version.
