Amazon Kindle for Android Updated with Voice Search

motorola droid kindle androidAmazon yesterday launched an update to their Kindle application for Android. With this update, Kindle for Android now lets users search through Kindle books by either typing or speaking a word or phrase, lock screen orientation in portrait or landscape mode, look up words and phrases in Wikipedia by selecting text and view details about a book on Shelfari, a social cataloging website.

The Kindle app for Android also allows customers to add, edit and delete notes and highlights to books and have them sync between devices.

The US Kindle Store currently includes over 700,000 books. The Kindle application is available on a multitude of devices, such as the iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, Mac, PC, BlackBerry and Android.

Kindle for Android is available for free on the Android Market and will update automatically for those who have already downloaded the application.
