Secret Facebook Phone Rumor Denied by PR

According to an article on Techcrunch, Facebook is secretly working with a third party manufacturer to build a Facebook phone. While the third party is working on the device, Facebook is developing the software for it. It seems that Facebook is interested in a better integration with the phone's contact list as well as other functions and not just an application.
Unfortunately for those who thought this would be good idea, Facebook PR quickly tried to shut down the rumor: "The story [...] is not accurate. [...] The bottom line is that whenever we work on a deep integration, people want to call it a 'Facebook Phone' because that's such an attractive soundbite, but building phones is just not what we do" said Facebook spokesperson Jaime Schopflin.
So they kind of confirmed they are working on the software for a phone and denied rumors about building the device itself. What do you think? Would you buy a Facebook phone?
