Nokia X5 Square Smartphone Announced
14 Jun 2010 | Nokia | 5 comments
Nokia today unveiled their latest S60 smartphone, the Nokia X5. Looks like there's a new trend going on with the square form factor. Just two weeks ago, Motorola also released a square smartphone, the Flipout, powered by Android.
The X5 square slider features a 2.36-inch QVGA display, 5.0 megapixel camera and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It runs Symbian S60 3rd Edition, which comes packed with support for Facebook, Twitter and other major social media networks, as well as email support from Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and Ovi Mail.
The Nokia X5 is more of a music phone, due to its features such as dedicated music keys on the front and the ability to shuffle tracks when spinning the phone. This is not the only motion-controlled feature it has. The X5 can also check the number of unread messages by shaking the phone.
The Nokia X5 smartphone will be available in pink, black, lime, azure and purple in the third quarter of 2010 for an approximate price of $200.
