Nokia N8 12 Megapixel HD Smartphone Announced

Nokia introduced its newest smartphone this week, the Nokia N8, featuring a 12 megapixel camera that shoots 720p HD quality videos and a built-in editing software. This handset also doubles as a portable entertainment center, enabling access to Web TV services. Users can also get local Web TV content from the Ovi Store.
Nokia N8 also comes with built-in social networking features, such as the ability to post your photos to Facebook or Twitter after you take them. Specific applications for both services are also available, with live updates being pulled in by the homescreen.
Powered by Symbian ^3, the new N8 lets users multiple personalizable homescreens which can be loaded with widgets and applications. The operating system also has better memory management allowing more applications to run at once for faster multitasking.
Other great features include free GPS voice-guided navigation anywhere in the world, for free. Nokia makes use of its Ovi Maps to offer free car and pedestrian turn by turn navigation.

Nokia is planning to release the N8 in select markets during the third quarter of 2010, at an estimated retail price of EUR 370 (~$490), before taxes.
