iphone screen protectorsApple has begun removing iPhone, iPod and MacBook screen protectors from their retail and online stores. This also includes antiglare films, protection for laptop pal areas and iPhone and iPod cases that contain screen protection.

With the highly-expected iPad coming out in a couple of weeks, one of the speculations for this move is that Apple doesn't want people to think that their products are so fragile that they would need any kind of protection for the screen. Not only is this a stupid speculation, but it doesn't explain the antiglare and mirrored coating options.

A somewhat better speculation is that people are having a hard time applying the protectors and they end up return them. Or maybe Apple is getting ready to launch an option for pre-applied screen protectors.

Either way, protective screens will still be available through other website, just not directly from Apple.

How are people scratching *GLASS* screens?
I've owned a lot of cell phones over the past 15 years... and never had 1 scratch on any of the screens.

Never used any exact screen protection.

They're using diamonds, perhaps?
