According to Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division, the company is getting ready to show off Windows Mobile 7 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
Asked whether Microsoft would showcase Windows Mobile 7, Bach responded: "I have had the pleasure to look at it and play with it, and I'm confident that people will look at it as differentiated, as something that sets the bar forward - not in an evolutionary way, but something that feels, looks, acts, and performs as something completely different."
He also said: "We're going to have new things we'll talk about at the Mobile World Congress," but did not go into details.
Bach admitted that the current version of Windows Mobile is too skewed towards business users and it's not as modern as it should be. Analysts say that Microsoft needs to launch a mobile OS that competes with the iPhone and Android or it will lose out in the mobile market.
