samsung galaxy spica i5700 frontSamsung today officially unveiled its newest Android-powered smartphone, the Samsung i5700, also known as the Galaxy Spica, the first Android phone to support DivX videos.

Measuring only 13.2mm thick, the Spica is a pretty powerful smartphone, featuring an impressive 800Mhz processor, so users can enjoy all kinds of applications from the Android Market .

The quad-band GSM/EDGE device also supports 3.2Mbps HSDPA data transfers on the 900/2100Mhz UMTS bands and it comes packed with a large 3.2-inch HVGA (320x480 pixel) touchscreen, 3.0 megapixel camera with autofocus, 3.5mm audio jack, full HTML capable browser, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi. It also comes preloaded with a full suite of Google apps, including Search, Maps, YouTube, Talk and Gmail.

The Samsung Galaxy Spica (i5700) is available in Europe and CIS with Middle East and Asia to follow shortly. Samsung did not disclose the price.
