Other features include a microSD card slot with a 16GB card included, 3.5mm headphone jack, 3G, EV-DO and Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with A2DP, light sensor accelerometer, proximity sensor, GPS support with transceiver and with Flash support coming in 2010.

Verizon is shipping the Motorola Droid on November 6 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.

by d. k. on Oct 30, 2009

I just spooged on my curve. cant wait to get it.

by vzwtechdude on Oct 30, 2009

how exactly is the iphail better? because it does...nothing this one can't. Because it has the lame lower case 'i' in front of it? Because it has a more restrective os that wont let you change everything? RIM blew the S1 out of the water with the S2, the new line of curves is also a substantial upgrade, HTC is putting out a droid phone at the same time. Also it's an undeniable fact, verizon has a larger data network than any other US carrier.

Yay! Another mobile phone which is ALMOST as good as the iPhone! Hooray, they almost copied it completely, and almost got it right.

Seriously, good luck, Motorola. I give you a big fat FAIL. I think it looks sad.

Wow i was going to get the blackberry storm2, but im sold on the Motorola Droid!!! :D

by Zach on Nov 2, 2009

Seriously jason d, you are just a little apple fan boy that thinks the i phone is the best thing ever im pretty sure this phone does everything the iphone does but better. and its on the best network in the U.S. sure iphone has alot more apps but most of them are shitty anyways. you are just scared that the iphone might actually have some competition. i think this phone has the potential to be not only as good but better than the iphone. and its going in my pocket when it comes out.

Let's see. Other phones have tried but failed to take the top spot from the iphone. Imitation is, after all, the best form of flattery. Perhaps Motorola nailed this one, but they are going to have to really blow people away with this phone to convert iphone users and steer new smart phone users their way. Realistically, they probably have about a 15-20% chance of significantly tapping into iphone's sales.

i dnt see anything special about this new phone. the iphone does everything this one seems to do and if not then that is what computers are for. its still ugly like all of verizons phones. i have only seen 2 decet phones VZ has ever had and i have right now the latest one. i have the samsung rouge and i love it! its a really good phone and i love how it all works and how clear the screen is and clear the calls are and so forth. in my opinion T-mobile is the best carrier service next to verizon. Verizon needs to step up their game instead of trying to copy other services. i think they have a long way to go to step up their game.

We have to look at the entire market of consumers, though. Not a lot of people ARE technology buffs like a few people here. Above everything, this phone is just less attractive than the iPhone. Let me tell you, most young people (The main buyers) don't necessarily care about everything the phone has to offer unless it looks presentable. The Droid just looks boxy and cheap in comparison to the iPhone and other high class phones, like the Blackberry line. Don't call this a generalization, I've looked into it, and I am a pretty young person myself.

VERIZON JUST TOOK EVERYTHING FROM THE iPHONE AND JUST GAVE IT A DIFFERENT LOOK AND ADDED A QWERTY KEYBOARD TO IT

by phone it in on Nov 4, 2009

I have the omnia and my wife has the iphone. the iphone is great, the network sucks. If this phone does and has what it sales pitch says it does then Verizon wont have to worrie about apple and its only avialable from one provider, which had to be the dumbest thing they could of done with the iphone.

by DOC on Nov 6, 2009

I'm sitting outside a Verizon store right now. Can't wait to get this phone in my pocket. Anything is better than my storm and the iphone sucks ass.

by Nick on Nov 7, 2009

I like it, VERY fast (much faster internet that I could of expected) keyboard I personally dont mind as I have small fingers so works out well there. Lots of free apps/games. very nice screen/display. Widgets you can add and remove freely.

problems...No phone pad for texting/t9.
some times freezes and resets?

by lil wayne on Nov 30, 2009
