apple logoApple yesterday announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2009, which ended on September 26. Unlike its competitors in the mobile phone market, Apple once again impressed everyone with its $1.67 billion revenue, up 47% from $1.14 billion in the same quarter of 2008.

According to CEO Steve Jobs, the company managed to sell more iPhones than in any previous quarter, reaching a record of 7.4 million units, meaning a 7% increase from last year. Apple also managed to sell 10.2 million iPods (down 8%) and 3.05 million Macs (up 17%).

"We are thrilled to have sold more Macs and iPhones than in any previous quarter. We've got a very strong lineup for the holiday season and some really great new products in the pipeline for 2010," said Jobs.
