No Sony Ericsson Android Phones Planned Yet

According to Hideki Komiyama, CEO of Sony Ericsson, the company will not be launching an Android-based phone any time soon. The reason was that it will take some time, "evaluation, a lot of testing and a lot of acceptance from a consumer viewpoint" in order to bring out a phone based on Google's new mobile operating system.

Sony Ericsson today posted its first quarter financial results and announced the cut of 2,000 jobs, making this the third consecutive quarter loss for the company, so there might not be enough time to think things through.

"Our focus is on how can we differentiate from the competitors using the same operating system," Komiyama also said.
