bluetooth logo 3The Bluetooth Special Interest Group will be officially introducing the new Bluetooth 3.0 standard on April 21.

Early reports are saying that Bluetooth 3.0 is expected to deliver faster transfer speeds than ever before using Generic Alternate MAC/PHY (AMP), letting Bluetooth operate at WiFi speeds. So we'll be getting Bluetooth over WiFi, which according to the Bluetooth SIG, will let us transfer an entire music library, a DVD or albums of photos in just a few seconds.

A new feature we'll be seeing is called Enhanced Power Control, which will reduce the chances of disconnects while syncing, caused by putting the phone in your pocket. Expect a full list of specs next week.
