windows mobile logoAccording to Microsoft's Kevin Turner, the company is expected to sell 22 million copies of Windows Mobile this year. But did he mean this fiscal year or calendar year?

If Turner was talking about the the fiscal one, which will end in June, 22 million copies will represent a 22% increase over last year's 18 million Windows Mobile copies sold by Microsoft last fiscal year.

However, Microsoft expected a total of 20 million sales last fiscal year, but due to some hardware delays encountered by their partners, they managed to sell 2 million less.

As a reminder, Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 will begin shipping at the end of 2009.
