Everybody's going through rough times, especially Sprint. Just days after Microsoft announced that 5,000 of their workers will be laid off, Sprint is now planning the same thing by slashing 8,000 jobs in the next 3 months in order to fight the recession, which affects 14% of company's workforce.
Sprint will pay $300 million for severance, but is planning to save $1.2 billion per year in labor costs.
Last month, AT&T, the second-largest US carrier, reduced its workforce by 12,000 people.
