Nokia E63 messaging smartphone heading to the US

nokia e63 smartphone thumbCES 2009 - Today at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, Nokia announced that an updated version of their recently announced Nokia E63 messaging device will be heading stateside in the coming months.

Nokia first introduced the E63 business phone back November. Running on Symbian S60 3rd Edition open source operating system, the E63 features a 320 x 240 pixel resolution screen, a 2 megapixel camera, video recording at QVGA quality (15fps), music player, video player, 110MB internal storage and a microSD card slot for extra memory.

It also comes equipped with a 3.5mm jack, WiFi, full HTML browser with Flash support, QWERTY keyboard and Bluetooth.

Nokia will be launching the North American version of the E63 in the first quarter of this year for an estimated retail price of $279. Will it be good enough to compete against the BlackBerry?
