iPhone 2.2 firmware update launched

Apple finally released iTunes 8.02 today together with the much-expected iPhone 2.2 firmware for the iPhone and iPhone 3G.
New additions include improvements to the Google Maps app, like Google Street View, public transit and walking directions, display the address of dropped pins and share location via email. That may be pretty cool, but probably the most important feature of the 2.2 firmware is the ability to download podcasts using the iTunes app directly on your iPhone (over Wi-Fi and 3G).
Other improvements: preference to turn on/off auto-correction (finally!!), decrease in call drops, improved sound quality of visual voicemail messages, pressing the Home button from any Home screen will take you to the first screen and of course the usual bug fixes.
Overall, this is a pretty heavy update, most likely to please most the iPhone users out there.

Actually, you can download podcasts over the 3G network if the episode doesn't exceed 10MB.
I refuse to get excited about puppy features over the much needed features such as flash, mms, email search, cut and paste.
