Here's another cool new feature from the iPhone (and iPod Touch) 2.2 firmware that should have been implemented from the start - the ability to download podcasts directly to the iPhone, without having to sync with your computer.

Recently, an iPhone app called Podcaster, which intended to do the same thing, got rejected from the iTunes App Store. Now we know the reason.

This is the second major 2.2 iPhone firmware feature leaked this week. Just days ago, we told you that Apple was also planning to add Street View to the Google Maps app.

Apple still hasn't set a launch date for the update.
