T-Mobile and Motorola today announced the launch of the highly anticipated ROKR E8 music phone. Motorola first introduced the E8 at CES 2008 back in January and we haven't heard anything since.
The cool feature about this phone is the ModeShift technology, which allows users to switch the ROKR's controls from a music player to a phone or to a camera.
The E8 also comes equipped with haptics technology, which was already introduced in the Samsung Instinct. This feature provides a tactile feedback when the screen is touched, giving the user a traditional feel and confirmation that the key was pressed.
Other features of the MOTOROKR E8 include a 2.0" QVGA (240x320 pixels) 262k TFT display, a 2.0 megapixel camera with 8x zoom, video recording, media player, 2GB internal memory, card slot for external memory support of up to 4GB, 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, stereo Bluetooth with A2DP and airplane mode.
T-Mobile will start shipping the Motorola ROKR E8 on July 7th for $199.99 with a 2 year contract.
