RIP Palm Foleo 2007-2007

Yes, it's true, Palm has cancelled the Foleo. To tell you the truth, we didn't see this one coming, even though it was the worst idea that Palm has ever come up with. The announcement was made by Palm CEO Ed Colligan on the company's blog, saying that they will start focusing on the next gen platform and smartphones.

The device was first introduced by Palm founder Jeff Hawkins back in May and was meant to be a smartphone companion that would automatically sync with your Treo smartphone and let you use a real keyboard and bigger screen whenever needed. Yes, that's exactly what people want, an extra piece of hardware to carry around. And considering the $500 price point, this thing never had a chance.

Anyway, we're happy they realised that it was bad idea to start with and hopefully will start working on those new Treos soon.

A bit shocked myself, but it's a great move for them, it's the right thing to do.
