Helio Ocean officially launched

As expected, Helio today officially launched the dual-slider Ocean. The device was first unveiled at CTIA 2007 almost two months ago.

Helio's QWERTY smartphone was developed by Pantech and will come equipped with a a 260k color QVGA screen, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, media player with MP3, AAC, WMA, MPEG-4, H.264, EV-DO, GPS, 200 MB internal memory and a microSD card slot. It also features POP,IMAP, Exchange ActiveSync, a full HTML browser and built-in Google Maps.

The Ocean will be available everywhere starting May 21 for the price of $295.

The double sliding thing is really nice, but how durable is it really? Just a thought. I really hate phones that twist and turn because they never last.
