The newest addition to LG's Shine lineup has been launched today by Verizon Wireless. Folks, we remind you that these are the same guys that unveiled a banana phone earlier today and the Chocolate, which turned out to be a piece of crap two months after the launch. (for more "testimonials", check the comments).

The VX8700 was first spotted last week together wth another clamshell, the LX570 music phone at CTIA 2007. It comes equipped with a QVGA screen, a 2.0 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and the regular stuff from Verizon like V CAST Music and V CAST Video.

The Shine clamshell is available for $179 after a $50 online discount and a two-year contract.
