As expected, Verizon Wireless has launched the clamshell version of LG's famous Chocolate phone, the LG VX8600. First photos were leaked back in August, but the pictures were so blurry that we had to file the story under 'rumors'. The official announcement did come however, a month later, when we found out that Verizon Wireless will be picking up the successor of the original Chocolate (no surprise there).
The LG Chocolate VX8600 features a 262k color (176x220 pixels) internal display, a 65k color (128x128 pixels) external display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, video player with MP4/3GP/3G2 and WMV support, music player with dedicated external music buttons and WMA/MP3 support, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and EV-DO.
Verizon Wireless is selling the VX8600 for $129.99 after a $50.00 online discount and a two-year customer agreement.

I think the form factor on the Chocalate phones are great... but the UI is very complex and confusing. Seems like the handset companies are trying to put too much into the phones and be everything to all people. I look forward to the day when the phones are shipped with a basic OS, and some standard applications leaving the consumer to freely choose their applications and customize. Between the carriers and handset manufacturers this may be a ways out... but ultimately the consumer will get their way.
I'm afraid to get one. Many people have been having problems with it. I prefer something else less hotter and safer than something that looks good and not reliable.
What is everybody else saying? Is this phone any good or not? Not feature wise ... but durability wise.
i think that it is so cute and affordable how ever you wirte that.
poop
I love this phone, i got the cable for it and put ringtones on it for free with bitpim. worth the cost, love the mp3 factor although havn't found a way to play music to the bluetooth
This phone is no good. The first day i got it i dropped it into a pool of crocidiles in my back yard in flordia and the crocs just dimolished it. If a phone cant stand up to 3 crocidiles biting it its junk! I was very suprised in this, cuz its from lg.
I like this but theres still a lot of things that i cant do with this phone and i wish something can be done about it
