Okay, this is what you have been waiting for, right? According to an "anonymous tipster", Cingular will be launching the Motorola KRZR K1 in the first week of November. Of course, this is just a rumor, nothing is confirmed yet.

The KRZR K1 was announced in July together with the K1m (CDMA version of the K1). For those of you who forgot about its features, we'll run them down for you once again: 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, image editing, video capture, record up to 25 minutes of video on embedded memory, music player with MP3, Midi, AAC, AAC+ support, MicroSD card slot.

Other features include EDGE, Bluetooth and Push-To-View for sharing of images in real time, Screen 3 technology for instant access to news, sports, and other content.

That's it. Keep your eyes peeled on November 4th.

Just talked to a rep at Cingular today (Nov 4) and was told that they still don't have the phone, though they're hoping to get it soon.

Stay tuned!!

well i have the phone ..its the KRZR , not 'K1' ...and it works fine with Cingular here in massachusetts, usa. Its beatiful!
Cingular does not officially offer it yet, but this unlocked unit from works fine. A new 'Phone Tools ' even works with it (you need to install the terrible one from the CD but then that one will auto update you twice, to get to the latest version). Zoomcell seems to be some kind of 'garage' operation, with phone no.'s that dont connect and email addr that returns '..please forgive , our email is broken' .. and i was very nervous on learning that! BUT .. the unit came without the extra 1gig mem chip .. I sent an email and within days i had the new proper chip!!>

Note: the PhoneTools thing gives some error msgs that scare ya, but they are irrelevent and incorrect! Eg, "This v. of PT doesnt allow sync'ing of datebook!" . and then PT goes on and does sync it!

Also, was initial prob with it not having a working 'search' the contact list .. Was corrected by a 'Master Reset' (see manual). Motorola, btw, has a special 'tech group' with its only concern being the KRZR, and with its own special tel number. An email to Moto will have them send you info on contacting that group ..
