Verizon Wireless launches shock and water resistant phone

Verizon Wireless and UTStarcom announced the online availability of the Verizon Wireless G'zOne Type-V. This handset was built to resist harsh weather conditions and is compliant to multiple Military Standards including exposure to temperatures in excess of 140ºF, extreme vibration, solar radiation, conditions set to simulate storm conditions of two inches of rainfall per hour with high winds and submersion in one meter of water.
Some of the features include a 2.0 megapixel digital camera, 15-second FLIX videos, speakerphone and voice activated dialing. It even comes equipped with IM for AOL, Yahoo! and MSN.
The CDMA2000 1 X EV-DO, 800/1900 MHz-band compatible G'zOne Type-V is available online at www.verizonwireless.com for $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. The phone will start retailing in Verizon Wireless stores on October 23.

Wonder when this phone will be available for other carriers. Verizon doesnt cover my area.
