19 Jun 2006 | Sony Ericsson | 3 comments

Sony Ericsson has announced its newest phone today, the Sony Ericsson K610im, the company's first handset to offer full support for i-mode. In case you're wondering, i-mode is a wireless internet service developed by Japanese provider NTT DoCoMo. It operates at 9.6 kbps and uses C-HTML, a subset of HTML. Next generation i-mode will hopefully support 384 kbps.

Features of the Sony Ericsson K610im include a 1.9" (176x220) 260k display, a 2 megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom and a second camera, VGA, for video calls, 16 MB user memory, 64 MB Memory Stick Micro in the box and card slot for up to 1 GB of memory. Other features include Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and USB charging.

The dual mode (UMTS/GPRS) K610im will begin shipping in the third quarter of 2006.
