Reuters is reporting that Softbank, a Japanese Web and telecom company and Apple are working together to develop mobile phones with built-in iPod music players. These phones will also be able to download songs from the Apple's iTunes Music Store.
The device developed by the two companies will presumably be available for sale as early as this year and is expected to carry both the Softbank and Apple brands. Apple spokesman was not available for comment.
Last year, Apple and Motorola launched the ROKR, which turned out to be a huge disappointment. We'll see how things turn out for this one.
