Motorola announced today that it will begin selling mobile phones with Microsoft's music software, which could mean a victory for Microsoft over Apple. However, Apple is still a long way ahead, dominating the portable music world with its iPod.

Motorola had amazing success with the RAZR handsets, but failed to impress with the ROKR E1 with iTunes support. Despite of this, Motorola said that it would continue selling models with Apple's iTunes. Motorola phones with Microsoft's Windows Media format will go on sale in the second half of 2006.
