Nokia expects 3G sale increase in 2006

According to Reuters, Nokia is expecting sales of 3G phones to double in the year to come, said Chief Financial Officer Rick Simonson today. Simonson also repeated the Finnish company's forecast for handset sales volumes overall to grow by more than 10 percent in 2006.

"You're looking at approaching 900 million plus units next year," he told CNBC.

Nokia is also expecting global mobile phone sales from all handset manufacturers to total 780 million units for 2005.
