Verizon Wireless has won the legal battle against telemarketers who made illegal sales calls to cell phone customers. Verizon announced on Friday that judges in New Jersey and California have permanently banned both Intelligent Alternatives (San Diego, CA) and Resort Marketing Trends (Coral Springs, FL) from using autodialers or prerecorded messages in calls to Verizon cell phone users.

Intelligent Alternatives will also pay a $20,000 fine. Verizon Wireless will donate this money to the Family Justice Center Foundation in San Diego

"We will vigorously defend the strong wall of customer privacy we've built over the years through our aggressive pro-consumer policies and actions," said Verizon Wireless general counsel Steven Zipperstein in a statement.
