Kyocera KPC650 PC card has been announced today by Kyocera and Verizon Wireless. The card will be used for Verizon Wireless' high-speed 3G EV-DO network. Average download speeds will be between 400-700 kbps and 2 Mbps. The KPC650 offers SMS, email and VPNs (Virtual Private Networks).
"The addition of the KPC650 card to Verizon Wireless' EV-DO offerings gives road warriors another tool to quickly and easily access their files, email, Internet and more. With our expanding 3G network and the backward capabilities of EV-DO with 1xRTT, Verizon Wireless customers have the assurance of connectivity, whether they're downloading a new sales presentation just before a meeting or using downtime at the airport to remain productive," said Cindy Patterson, vice president of enterprise data for Verizon Wireless.
Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service is $79.99 for monthly access for unlimited use. The KPC650 is $99.99 after $100 mail-in rebate.
